Jacqueline Blanco: Pose

Plush Gallery presents the first solo exhibition of Jacqueline Blanco, to coincide with Dallas Art Fair weekend. She is graduating with her Bachelor of Visual and Performing Arts degree from the University of Texas at Dallas this spring semester. Jacqueline is a 2018 recipient of the Clare Hart DeGolyer Memorial Fund award of the Dallas Museum of Art.

Of her work, she says, "My goal is to make the viewer uncomfortable through abstraction and the inclusion of the human figure within paintings and installations. I have abstracted the heads of the figures to allow the viewers to imagine themselves as the subject matter. They represent the feeling and emotions within the pieces. With the inclusion of text, my newest work explores derogatory terms, and how they psychologically affect individuals when they are used against them."

Black Market Bodega
